Thanks to Common Dreams for publishing my article a few days ago. You can read it online at their site here. If you are moved to learn more about or donate to Rosette Village, their website is here.
I'm glad I waited to re-read this piece. It needs to get lots more eyes, and hopefully it will inspire similar actions to Rosette Village. I'd naively say we need to do more than these makeshift villages, but until we get the political will to stop the wanton destruction of these last ditch efforts to set up meager tent cities I guess we should accept this step. "Human Rights Zone" declarations might be an approach to be used in other communities. Nice post, Fran!
I went to the website for Rosette. They are doing something important and others around our nation and around the world are building similar. tiny homes and neighborhoods. I think we need to go a step further and build cities, cities of the future that can change the world for the better. This is why we are doing this on a grand scale.
We are going to put together a whole city of tiny homes. We plan to house as many as 100,000 people. And from there we will expand around the world. Let's work together to make it happen. The sooner the better.

Nice Christmas story, Fran. Now to keep it going year round.
If you want to see how it can be done year-round, watch "Lee'd The Way." The Spin-off and Sequel will be coming in the near future.
What are the standard dimensions of the tiny homes in Rosette Village?
